Client Service & Operations
Converso runs simultaneous interpretation, multilingual streaming and accessibility services for international events. We're a small team, and our clients are companies and institutions across half of Europe. We're looking for one more person to keep the Converso HUB running: replying to clients, preparing quotes, handling the paperwork and the deadlines. It's everyday work, nothing crazy, and it's learnable. Once that part runs smoothly, you use the time left to bring in work: following up with clients, spotting where we can do more. There's a commercial side, but it comes later. The contract is an Italian professionalising apprenticeship (CCNL Commercio, 36 months, target level III). By law you need to be between 18 and 29 (art. 44 D.Lgs. 81/2015). Everything goes through one in-house system, ROSA: no twenty scattered Excel files.
What you will do
- Reply to clients and work out what they actually need
- Prepare quotes for the things we usually do, and follow them up until the client decides
- Keep paperwork and deadlines in order: the bureaucracy you only notice when it slips
- Before an event, gather materials, confirmations and details with the client
- When things are running, look for ways to bring in more work: follow up with clients, make suggestions, don't just wait
- Work inside one system, ours, and when something doesn't fit, flag it instead of patching it with a side Excel
Requirements
- You write well in Italian: you'll write to clients every day, and to them that's you
- You speak and write English, not just understand it: half our clients write in English
- You're tidy and precise: here a wrong name or a missed deadline becomes a real problem
- You're reliable and organise yourself without someone checking on you
- No industry experience needed, and no need to be a genius: just a head on your shoulders and the will to learn
- Aged 18 to 29 (the apprenticeship requirement)
Nice to have
- A third language beyond Italian and English (French, German, Spanish): many clients are abroad
- Having worked with business clients before, even a little
- Having felt at home in a small company, where you see the whole thing, not just one slice
- Using AI as a work tool, sensibly: we use it, but not instead of thinking
What we offer
- A professionalising apprenticeship aimed at a real hire, not at filling 36 months
- €24,000–27,000 gross a year (14 monthly instalments), rising with your level. Exact figures at the interview
- Fondo Est health cover and Edenred welfare
- €8 meal vouchers for every day worked
- One day of remote work a week after the first few months
- A real kitchen in the Converso HUB: fridge, microwave, hob, dishwasher. Coffee, tea and water always, and the odd snack
- Milan, Via Dezza 25. Laptop and tools are on us
- The role starts here, but there's room to grow: every job changes over time, and here it shows when you do well
Honestly
- Let's be honest: most of it, every day, is keeping the Converso HUB running. The paperwork, the deadlines, the quotes, the things you don't see until they slip. It needs doing well and fast, and the simpler you make it the better.
- No industry experience needed, and no need to be a genius: almost all of it you learn by doing, with someone next to you to explain it. Above all we're after someone tidy, sharp and reliable. And if that's you, once things run on their own there's room to do more.
