Booth Interpretation

The technique that set the standards. We know it from the inside.

Before developing digital platforms and remote hubs, Converso worked with booths, cables and receivers. Simultaneous interpretation in booths is the format that built the industry — and that still today, in certain contexts, remains the right choice.

How it works

Interpreters work in soundproof ISO booths installed in the venue, completely acoustically isolated from the audience. They receive the speaker's audio signal through headphones and translate in real time. The audience listens to the translation via infrared or radio frequency receivers with earpieces — one per language, one channel per channel.

verified

It is a mature, proven technology, universally recognized in all congressional and institutional settings.

When it makes sense to choose it

Booth interpretation is still the right choice in some specific situations:

When the venue lacks adequate connectivity for digital solutions

When the institutional format of the event — formal assemblies, parliamentary sessions, international conferences — explicitly requires it

check_circle

When the client already has their own audio service and only needs interpreters

When the audience is large and distributed in a big venue with a fixed system already installed

An honest word

The logistics are demanding: booth transport and setup, receiver distribution and collection, battery management, dedicated staff. Fixed costs are high. Flexibility is low.

If you're considering this format, we only ask that you talk to us before deciding. In many cases MRSI offers the same reliability with much more flexibility and at lower costs. But if booths are truly the right choice for your event, we do them — and we do them well.
