Bidule — Mobile Simultaneous

No booths. No fixed equipment. Full professionalism.

The bidule is a simultaneous interpretation technique designed for those who move. Factory visits, plant tours, workshops in unconventional spaces, small groups in environments where setting up a booth would be impractical or simply disproportionate.

The interpreter is free to follow the group, without being tied to a fixed station. The audience listens in real time. All wireless, all battery-powered, zero cables.

Our system — a step ahead of the standard

In traditional bidule, the interpreter listens to the speaker directly with their own ears and translates into the microphone. It works, but it has its limits: ambient noise, distance, difficult acoustics.

The Verso system adds an element that changes everything: the interpreter receives the speaker's audio through headphones, via a dedicated pocket-sized mobile kit. Clean listening, controlled level, independent of the room's acoustics. The result is professional interpretation quality even in complex environments.

How it works — the components

Converso bidule kit: microphone, transmitters, interpreter headphones, receivers and batteries

mic Speaker side — three options

settings_input_hdmi

Plug-on transmitter

Connects directly to the venue's existing audio system via AUX or MAIN output. It's the ideal choice when the venue already has a mixer and installed audio system — no additional microphone, the signal is taken directly from the console.

mic_external_on

Handheld transmitter

The classic wireless microphone to pass from hand to hand. Ideal when there are multiple speakers alternating dynamically — round tables, Q&A sessions, group discussions.

spatial_audio_off

Bodypack transmitter with clip microphone

Clips onto the speaker's jacket or belt and leaves hands completely free. The natural choice when there's a single speaker who needs to move, gesture or handle materials during the presentation.

headset_mic Interpreter side — the Verso mobile kit

A pocket-sized device that receives the speaker's audio signal and plays it through headphones with professional quality. The interpreter listens to the floor cleanly and controlled, regardless of ambient noise or physical distance from the speaker. Transmits their voice on a single wireless channel to the audience receivers. Battery-powered, pocket-sized, requires no external power.

groups Audience side

Compact wireless receivers with disposable stereo earpieces. The audience listens to the translation in real time, with the same simplicity as a tour guide system — but with professional event quality and reliability.

When it's the right choice

The bidule is not a simplified version of booth interpretation — it's a different technique, designed for different contexts. It's the natural choice for:

Manufacturing plant visits, trade fairs and showrooms

smartphone More languages, relay included — no additional hardware

With the Converso WebApp and Soft Console on a smartphone or tablet, interpreters work on the move exactly as in a virtual booth. Unlike the physical bidule, this setup supports multiple simultaneous languages and relay between interpreters. Ideal when the group is multilingual and operational simplicity remains a priority.

precision_manufacturing Professional-grade mobile interpretation — even on the factory floor

With MRSI Mobile, a single Converso technician brings a compact RSI Bridge, bonding connectivity and stabilized video to the location. Interpreters work remotely from the Milan Hub. The result: 11 languages among the machinery of an industrial plant, with conference-hall quality. We've done it. It works.
